Sound Bath with Lori Lea at Blue Lotus Temple
Sound Bath with Lori Lea at Blue Lotus Temple
11/2/24 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Blue Lotus Buddhist Temple and Meditation Center, 221 Dean St, Woodstock, IL 60098, USA
A sound bath is a full body meditative experience that assists you into a deeper state of consciousness, giving you the chance to unplug and focus on your inner self. The use of crystal singing bowls and gongs create deep vibrations at specific frequencies to help you relax, reduce stress, release toxins, relieve physical pains and improve cognition and inner peace.
About Lori Lea:
My journey of reconnecting and healing started after experiencing burnout from working over 20 years in the corporate world. In 2019, I attended a Holistic Healing Expo and a few speakers stories completely resonated with me which put me on the energy healing path. After obtaining a few certifications as Energy Healing Practitioner and Sound Practitioner, I discovered Sound Baths reach a broader audience which lifts people up without any fear and alleviates stress and brings people’s body back into harmony. Especially, with the busyness of the world and the overstimulation of our lives with little time for self care sharing the tranquility and transformation of sound healing is a true passion of mine.
Be sure to bring something comfortable to sit on - a yoga mat, pillow or blanket, and arrive 10-15 minutes early to find a good spot to get settled.

Nov 9 - Making Mandalas: Join us to create your own mandala! The word "mandala" comes from Sanskrit and means "circle". The art originated in India in the 4th century in Buddhist monasteries. Mandalas are used to aid meditation and are often displayed in churches, temples, and shrines. Mandalas are typically created by starting with a circle in the center and then drawing shapes around it in layers, repeating colors, patterns, and shapes. The shapes can include circles, triangles, raindrops, and loops. The repetitive patterns are intended to help the viewer relax and connect with the universe. Mandalas represent the universe in its ideal form, and their creation symbolizes the transformation of suffering into joy.

Crystal Singing Bowl and Gong Meditation with Diamond and Mark
11/16/24 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Blue Lotus Buddhist Temple, 221 Dean St, Woodstock, IL 60098, USA
This unforgettable event will soothe, inspire, and awaken your spirit as Sacred Sound Practitioners Mark Placzkowski and Diamond bathe you in sounds from a collection of Planetary Gongs and Quartz Crystal Singing Bowls. Feel the waves of total tranquility wash over you, melting your barriers to peace. Allow your light of purity to shine forth. Sounds of varying frequencies are created that wash over, around, and through you - much as you would imagine the waves of the ocean do.
These instruments create waves of sound that can carry you into a deeply meditative state. The brain reaches theta and delta frequencies where we access our deeper subconscious and superconscious. These are key states for healing, regeneration, and rejuvenation. All one needs to do is let the mind relax and allow the sounds of the gongs and singing bowls harmonize the body. Don’t miss this unique and special event!
Space is limited, so be sure to pre-register!
Tickets are $40.
Be sure to bring something comfortable to sit or lay on like a yoga mat, cushion, blanket, or pillow. Whatever makes you most comfortable. There are also chairs available in the Dhamma hall.

Reflection: Metta Sound Healing and Meditation with Bhante Rahula
Reflection: Metta Sound Healing and Meditation with Bhante Rahula
11/30/24 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Blue Lotus Buddhist Temple and Meditation Center, 221 Dean St, Woodstock, IL 60098, USA
As the end of the year approaches, it is often a time of introspective awareness. By incorporating guided meditation that focuses solely on reflection, we can use this deep practice to look forward to the events ahead.
Bhante Rahula combines loving kindness meditation - dated back thousands of years in Buddhist tradition, as well as ancient Buddhist chanting with the sound healing of crystal singing bowls. Sound affects our body in a powerful way that we may not understand, but the outcome is one that promotes inner peace and a feeling of calm in the body.
Bhante Rahula is a Buddhist monk and was ordained over 30 years ago. He is certified in sound healing.
Be sure to bring something comfortable to sit on - a yoga mat, pillow or blanket. Please arrive a bit early to find a spot as we tend to fill up quickly!
